Worry About The Future in The Future

Let me start this off by saying I won't make any movie references because it's too easy. Instead I'll find a way to mention my blog more than I need to. Time is a simple concept – it's only the past, present and future. And of those three the present is all that matters.

Solid Snake once said “A strong man doesn't need to read his future, he makes his own.” I'm going to disregard this quote because it's from a video game. The future is highly unpredictable, so if you plan for it things will never go your way.

  • Instant gratification feels so immediately rewarding, and you won't find it in the future.
  • You make all your rash decisions in the present, but regret them in the future.
  • It's not possible to slack off when you're concerned about the future.
  • Life in the present is manageable, but there's only hardship in the future.
  • Pioneers of the past and present are always discussed, but not those of the future.

If you're one of my loyal readers, emphasis on one, you don't care about the future one bit. Unfortunately, too many of your peers are overly concerned with the future (any concern is too much), so I'll remind you again how pointless the future is.

  • Things invented the future are of no use because they don't exist in the present.
  • Don't think about eating food in the future because it'll spoil, have it in the present.
  • You age as you approach the future, but this isn't a problem in the present.
  • Your clothes aren't as fashionable in the future, but you're stylin' in the present.
  • Future has only one meaning, whereas gift is a synonym for present.

The secret no one wants to tell you is you've got all the time to world to think about the future. If you concern yourself with the present, the future will work itself out. It may not be a future you're dreaming about, bu tit's a future you don't need to put any effort into!

I'm really from the future writing all these entries, and the future is completely – !
